Our chikankari outfits are hand-embroidered in Lucknow and follow traditional Indian sizing. Use the tables below to find the right size for you, him, or the kids. Sizes generally correspond to bust measurement in inches for women's wear, chest in inches for men, and age for children.

👗 Women's chikankari sizing

Our women's kurtas, anarkalis and suits use a bust-measurement-based system. The size number is your bust measurement in inches.

💡 Tip: Our chikankari sizing tends to run about 2 sizes larger than standard Australian sizing. If you usually wear AU size 10, you'll want our size 38. AU size 12 = our 40, AU 14 = our 42, and so on. Chikankari kurtas drape comfortably, so go up one more if you prefer a looser fit.

Standard women's kurta length: 44–48 inches (knee to mid-calf). Anarkali gowns: 48–54 inches (mid-calf to ankle).

Our men's kurtas use chest measurement in inches. Most styles come with matching pyjamas in coordinated sizes.

💡 Tip: Men's kurtas have a straight, slightly relaxed cut. If you wear a 40" chest shirt, order size 40. For a roomier fit, size up.

Standard men's kurta length: 40–44 inches (knee length). Pyjamas come with adjustable drawstrings.

Kids' outfits are sized by age (in years). Sizes generally accommodate the average build for each age group.

💡 Tip: Kids grow fast! If your child is between sizes or close to a growth spurt, size up. Chikankari outfits have generous drape that accommodates growth.

🧣 Sarees

Our sarees come in standard Indian sizing: 5.5 metres long × 1.1 metres wide, with an unstitched blouse piece (~0.8m) that you can have tailored to your size.

💡 Tip: A good local tailor in Australia can stitch your blouse from the included fabric in 1–2 weeks. Allow 3–4 weeks if ordering near Eid or Diwali (tailors get busy).

💍 Accessories & jewellery

Most accessories are one size fits all with adjustable clasps where applicable. Specific dimensions are listed on each individual product page.

📐 How to measure yourself

You'll need: A flexible measuring tape (a piece of string + a ruler works too).
  1. Bust / Chest: Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your bust/chest, keeping it parallel to the floor. Don't pull it tight — let it sit naturally.
  2. Waist: Measure the narrowest part of your waist (usually just above your belly button).
  3. Hips: Measure the fullest part of your hips, about 20 cm below your waist.
  4. Kurta length: Measure from the top of your shoulder straight down to where you want the kurta to fall (knee, mid-calf, or ankle).
  5. Sleeve length: Measure from the shoulder seam down to your wrist.
💡 Pro tip: Measure over a thin layer of clothing for the most accurate result. If you're between two sizes, choose the larger — chikankari outfits look better with a relaxed fit.

What if I'm between two sizes?

Size up. Chikankari kurtas are designed to drape comfortably, and a slightly looser fit looks more flattering than a tight one.

Can I return an item if the size doesn't fit?

Yes — see our return policy for full details. We accept returns within the stated window if the item is unworn and tags are intact.

Do you offer custom tailoring?

Currently we ship pieces in our standard size range (28"–52"). For custom sizing or alterations, contact us via WhatsApp on 0481 147 863 — for some pieces we can arrange custom stitching from Lucknow with extra lead time.

How does the fit compare to Western sizing?

Our chikankari sizing runs about 2 sizes larger than standard AU sizing. AU 10 = our 38, AU 12 = our 40, AU 14 = our 42, AU 16 = our 44, and so on. The simplest rule: add 28 to your AU size to get our equivalent size.
